"Changed" Compilation
All of us at CHANGED have experienced Jesus Christ’s unfailing love: His kindness, mercy and tenderness as He draws us into His life. And we are not the same because of it. Our generation is asking, “Is God alive? Can He be known? What is Christian life?” As you read, hear the good news—God is alive and He is excellent in all He does!
Each person in CHANGED has experienced the compassion as well as the power of God in their journey. These stories disclose a God who is ready to meet us under any circumstance to lead us into His vision for our wholeness and well-being. We all treasure what He has done in our lives. CHANGED uses the public arena, including civic engagement, to declare that God is alive and on the move among people who experience same sex attraction and gender confusion.
God cherishes us all. Each time we publicly share our testimonies we are declaring our love and thankfulness for Jesus our savior.
“The Secret Thoughts of an Unlikely Convert” by Rosaria Butterfield
Rosaria, by the standards of many, was living a very good life. She had a tenured position at a large university in a field for which she cared deeply. She owned two homes with her partner, in which they provided hospitality to students and activists that were looking to make a difference in the world. In the community, Rosaria was involved in volunteer work. At the university, she was a respected advisor of students and her department’s curriculum.
Then, in her late 30’s, Rosaria encountered something that turned her world upside down – the idea that Christianity, a religion she had regarded as problematic and sometimes downright damaging, might be right about who God was. That idea seemed to fly in the face of the people and causes that she most loved. What follows is a story of what she describes as a train wreck at the hand of the supernatural. These are her secret thoughts about those events, written as only a reflective English professor could.
“Out of Egypt” by Jeanette Howard
Jeanette Howards’ Out of Egypt is aimed at those who struggle with lesbianism and those who counsel them. Jeanette would have identified herself as a lesbian for many years but does so no longer. The book mixes elements of her own story with counselling sessions she has with women struggling with lesbianism.
“Called Out” by Janet Boynes
Janet Boynes leads readers through her inspiring testimony, from her decision to try the homosexual lifestyle, to the trauma and pain she suffered during her 14-year walk as a lesbian, and finally, to her glorious homecoming back to God in 1998. Janet discusses with honorable candor many of the issues so aggressively guarded by the gay agenda. This book is also recommended for anyone who knows or is related to a member of the homosexual community and desires to love them as Christ would love them.
“Restoring Sexual Identity” by Anne Paulk
Restoring Sexual Identity” offers answers to the most commonly asked questions from both homosexuals desiring change and friends and relatives of women struggling with same-sex attraction. Is lesbianism an inherited predisposition or is it developed in childhood? Does becoming a Christian eliminate all desire for members of the same sex? What support is available for women who struggle with lesbianism? Can a woman be a lesbian and a Christian at the same time? How does childhood sexual abuse relate to the development of lesbianism? These and other important questions are answered as the author draws from her own experience and that of many other former lesbians who participated in an extensive survey on same-sex attraction.

After being called out of a gay lifestyle in 2015, Sarah talks about her experience and her call to obedience following the word of God and how she has over the past few years been discussing this issue in churches. Sarah talks about the importance of the church supporting people in homosexuality in a non judgmental way but at the same time teach what the word of God says on this very divisive topic.

Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX) is a national non-profit organization committed to helping ex-gays and parents and friends of gays who want help, hope and community.
PFOX exists to educate, support, and advocate for individuals and parents on the issue of same-sex attraction, and increase others’ understanding and acceptance of the ex-gay community. We believe that every person seeking positive life change needs and deserves the love and support of family, friends, the community, and the church. That’s why we offer a place for help, a place for truth, and a place for the ex-gay to participate in the conversation about same-sex attraction.
Founded in May 1998, PFOX was created specifically to be an alternative to the misinformed gay family groups which insist that parents can only prove their love for their gay child if they support gay rights and affirm their child’s self-proclaimed gay identity. PFOX teaches parents that it’s ok to love their children without placing any conditions on that love.
BE BROKEN MINISTRIES
The story of Be Broken Ministries began with the story of Jonathan & Elaine Daugherty. Their personal journey through the devastation of sexual addiction and brokenness led to the formation of the ministry.
As healing began, first for Jonathan, and later for Elaine, they started to realize just how prevalent sexual brokenness was for families nationwide. Not wanting their healing to be in vain, they decided to begin reaching out to other men and their families who could benefit from the principles they learned on the journey to freedom and restoration. The road was difficult and painful, but the results have been worth every step. And it will be worth it for your family too...We want you to know Jonathan & Elaine's stories so you may know that "with God all things are possible." Follow the links below to learn more about the journey they have taken to find freedom, peace, and joy.
A few years ago Ken and Elizabeth, with our friend Rodger, began meeting together over coffee to share how God encountered us—it wasn’t long before we realized our experiences were relevant and spoke directly to the needs many people face. So, we resolved to establish a resource for people longing to understand homosexuality better and find resolution, and Equipped to Love
was born. Ken and Elizabeth followed the Lord into sexual wholeness and today cast vision to countless others seeking God’s heart for their sexual identities. Drawing upon their combined experiences of walking away from homosexuality, they offer understanding of the issue that opens doors for compassion and understanding.
