The primary purpose of Transforming Congregations is to equip UMC and GMC pastors, leadership teams and churches. Every Christ-followers can benefit from our courses.
The issues surrounding human sexuality and broken relational boundaries are difficult and controversial topics in today’s culture. Pastors and leaders need to effectively guide their churches to become a lamp on a hill for hurting and confused men, women and youth in desperate need of freedom and new life in Christ. But the truth is many of those people in need of freedom and restored sexual and relational wholeness are participating in church every week, struggling in silence and shame, perhaps that’s you.
There is a pathway toward freedom and wholeness through the cross of Christ as well as walking in the light with brothers and sisters… we were never meant to journey alone in our brokenness. showing all the true compassion and power of Christ, while remaining anchored to Biblical truth and sexual integrity.
A challenging question to consider is, how can a pastor effectively navigate these issues in a world bent on making God into its own image or utterly rejecting His authority, even His existence, altogether? How can churches thrive in a culture where many people reject the most basic and fundamental aspects of what it means just to be human, as sexual and relational beings?
Equipping pastors and churches to care for hurting people, ministering well within the context of these difficult issues, are the purpose for developing these teachings. We will be adding new curricula in the upcoming months on such topics as:
* Sex & Identity; a summit on God’s design
* Parenting well and raising godly kids in a sex-saturated and identity confused culture
* Non-binary, gender-fluid, transgender; understanding how identity is foundational in shaping our lives
