For nearly forty years, Transforming Congregations has served individual pastors, churches, and church leadership teams. We equip churches to continue to uphold Biblical and godly morality in the areas of relationships and human sexuality, despite intense pressure from both outside and inside the church to compromise God's call to holiness. However, we also equip pastors and their teams to minister to broken and hurting people within their churches who are struggling with these same issues, upholding Biblical morality but also serving, minstering to and loving these individuals in a loving and godly way, leading not only to individual healing but also a church culture of change and transformation.
If you care about what’s happening in your Church and Christian culture around the issues of sexuality, if you want to become equipped to do something about it… and if you think that it’s more important to reach out in love than to simply make statements, you’ve come to the right place.
We want to help you make a difference – in your own life, in your local congregation and in your world.
Churches and Christians are facing some of the most difficult questions of our times, and the world is watching to see how we will answer. Will Christians bear witness to God’s design for sex, identity and marriage in a winsome and convincing way? Will we respond with BOTH grace and truth to the sexually confused and broken – within the Church and secular culture?
For far too many churches the answer is rejection and exclusion. Harsh and condemnatory words are heard from the pulpit, church leadership often projects a “holier than thou” attitude, while adults and students alike quickly get the message that their particular sins are outside the realm of God’s grace and the Church has no real answers for them.
Or churches settle for silence and denial. “That doesn’t affect us here”… whatever that might be. Sexual addiction, pornography, same-sex attraction, infidelity, promiscuity… “maybe if we don’t talk about it, it will just go away.”
Given these choices, is it any wonder that liberal congregations opt for full acceptance and affirmation of sinful behavior? At least there’s a glimmer of compassion in that response… but Scripture tells us there is another choice, a hopeful, holy and truly loving choice – that choice is authentic discipleship that opens the door for transformation.
God’s grace is so amazing and so powerful that we don’t have to be defined or ruled by deeply rooted sexual sin or relational brokenness.
As you look through our website know that we would love to encourage and help your church begin to live out that truth in love!
IT IS GOD’S WILL …
THAT YOU SHOULD BE SANCTIFIED;
THAT YOU SHOULD AVOID SEXUAL IMMORALITY;
THAT EACH OF YOU SHOULD LEARN TO CONTROL HIS OWN BODY
IN A WAY THAT IS HOLY AND HONORABLE,
NOT IN PASSIONATE LUST LIKE THE HEATHEN, WHO DO NOT KNOW GOD.
… FOR GOD DID NOT CALL US TO BE IMPURE, BUT TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE.
THEREFORE, HE WHO REJECTS THIS INSTRUCTION DOES NOT REJECT MAN BUT GOD,
WHO GIVES YOU HIS HOLY SPIRIT.
